Teach English (Esl)

Our team serves Minnesotans of all ages — from 3-year-olds mastering their ABCs to grandparents determined to get their GED. We are able to reach nearly 90,000 children and adults each year thanks in great part to the more than 2,000 volunteers and 115 national service members we train annually.

Primary tasks:
Would you like to gain practice teaching English and make a difference in the lives of your neighbors? Volunteer as an ESL tutor with Minnesota Literacy Council! You’ll partner with adult immigrants and refugees who are learning English, helping them build their language and literacy expertise, and thrive in the United States. We need volunteers to serve as teachers, classroom adjuncts, and one-on-one tutors.
Curriculum and materials are provided; no previous teaching practice or foreign language proficiency is required. A required training is provided. Volunteers must be 18 years old, or 16 if volunteering alongside a parent or guardian.
