Training and Development Specialist RN St. Paul, MN

Under immediate supervision of the Training and Development Manager and in close collaboration with abortion services clinic and medical leadership, the Training and Development Specialist for Clinic Operations, is responsible for

* Analyzing, developing, delivering and evaluating organizational training for clinical and patient care processes and overall clinic operations with an emphasis on abortion and procedure services.

* Staff education and training with focus on staff supporting the abortion and procedure patient care job areas: Medical Assistants, LPNs and RNs and occasionally other staff working within the clinic setting.

The Training and Development Specialist has the ability to influence and work with diverse groups of people; has knowledge and skills in creating a learning environment including adult learning techniques, with emphasis on clinic operations skills as they relate to patients, staff and administration; demonstrated group leadership and facilitation experience; Must be able to travel to all clinics as needed, including outstate and work in the abortion / procedure areas to maintain clinical skills.

Essential function and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Works under the direction of the Training and Development Manager and in collaboration with abortion services clinic and medical leadership to design and coordinate ongoing courses related to clinical practice needs with emphasis on abortion services and procedures.

* Works with clinic leaders, clinic staff, and Training & Development Team to understand and assess needs and develop appropriate interventions and materials. Designs and develops training materials, (e.g., self-learning materials, group training materials and conferences), that can be used to train, mentor, and coach staff in performing their job functions.

* Works with appropriate department or team leadership to develop and implement training plans for new employee training as well as ongoing training needs. Delivers training curriculum in approved formats and within established timeframes.

* Formulates and implements evaluation systems to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of training being provided, as well as the transfer of learning from the material to the jobsite.

* Promotes standardization of evidence-based and / or best clinical practice.

* Supports initial and ongoing evaluation of clinical staff. This will include developing and maintaining initial, annual and emergency response competencies and conducting needs assessments.

* Act as a resource and support to PPMNS teams and employees in the provision of their job functions.

* Maintain clinical abortion competency.

* Assist and prepare employees to be in alignment with and deliver consistent messages about PPMNS mission, strategic objectives and values.

* Ability to learn new IT applications and e-learning technologies to be utilized for training, e.g., online learning, web-based learning, etc.

* Assesses new technologies and services that facilitate ongoing and efficient delivery of interventions that build and maintain a learning environment.

* In conjunction with Human Resources, maintains files of training materials and documentation of individual training completed.

Work HoursFull Time, 40 hours per week. This position is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, flex plans, long-term disability, life insurance, PTO, and 403(b) retirement plan.Requirements

Qualifications

* Registered Nurse current license in MN or ability to obtain before start date.

* Ability to become licensed in SD upon hire.

* CPR certification

* Three years experience in a clinic or hospital setting, or related experience

* Access to independent transportation, valid driver's license and current vehicle insurance, with willingness to drive to different clinic sites as needed.

* Effective communication skills; leadership and supervisory skills

* Strong organizational skills; attention to detail and accuracy

* Excellent customer service

* Working knowledge of technology necessary to perform job function, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint

Desired Qualifications

* Bachelors degree or higher

* Reproductive health experience

* Prior curriculum development and training experience preferred

* Bilingual language skills

* Two to three years experience in abortion or surgical / procedural services

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* A strong leader with demonstrated ability to assess needs, plan, implement and evaluate training / education

* Willingness to work with volunteers

* Strong computer skills
