Description Summary 13;
This position supports the indirect sourcing group within the Purchasing and Vendor Management Department. This individual will lead and be accountable for the successful deployment and integration of strategic procurement initiatives. Specific responsibilities include development and managing of commodity strategies, supplier negotiations, integration with business units, identification of cost savings opportunities, and the overall management of the supplier relationships. 13;
:Develops and leads procurement strategies across organizational and management levels.
:Manages complex strategic IT procurement initiatives.
:Procurement of indirect equipment, supplies and services, with primary focus on the corporate shared service commodities.
:Works with supplier base to continually identify process improvements and cost reduction opportunities.
:Develops and leads complex contract negotiation strategies critical to the organization.
:Objective setting, measurement, reporting, and process improvement in all areas of responsibility.
:Leads the work effort to revise and document procurement processes for the organization.
:Responsible for giving work direction for up to two people.
:Other projects/duties as assigned or needed.
:A Bachelors Degree in business or a related field and 5 years of demonstrated work experience in purchasing or 9 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree.
:Ability to work independently or on a team.
:Demonstrate strong project management /leadership skills.
:Ability to manage and prioritize several complex projects
:Excellent verbal and written communication skills
:Accountable for a high level of self and supplier performance.
:Strong negotiation skills.
:Strong sense of urgency.
:Excellent problem solving skills.
:Possess the ability to manage cross functional team projects, master agreements, and complex IT strategic initiatives that are critical to the organization.
Preferred Requirements 13;
:Experience in Indirect Procurement.
